I first starting riding at Te Awamutu college with my mates. We won the Sir Bernard Ferguson National secondary school Team time trial championships two years running and things progressed from there. I started a degree in Surveying when I left school although I put it on hold when I made the Athens Olympics and have been a professional bike rider for the last seven years. I spent five years racing in France and the last two years racing in America. I feel very lucky to have been able to make a career out of cycling, to have had great team mates and seen some pretty cool places along the way. I am married to Sally, enjoy catching up with friends when home in N.Z, spending time at the beach, and playing a round of golf with my old man.
